What is my skin type?

To maintain your tan and protect your skin, it is important to know your skin type. The following table may therefore help you determine your skin type.
Type 1: Celtic or Albinos
Characteristics:
Very light skin
Freckled skin
Red, blond or white hair
Very clear eyes, blue or green
Reactions to the sun:
Burns easily and severely, the skin peels a lot
Reaction to tanning:
The skin does not tan
Type 2: Celtic
Characteristics:
Light skin
A few freckles
Light brown or blond hair
Clear eyes, blue, gray or green
Reactions to the sun:
The skin burns easily and slightly peels
Reaction to tanning:
The skin progressively tans and is slightly visible
Type 3: North American
Characteristics:
Fairly light skin
A few freckles
Light brown or dark brown hair
Clear eyes
Reactions to the sun:
The skin gets slightly red
Reaction to tanning:
The skin progressively tans and is apparent
Type 4: North American
Characteristics:
Medium skin color
Some freckles
Dark brown hair
Brown eyes
Reactions to the sun:
The skin sometime gets slightly red
Reaction to tanning:
The skin tans well
Type 5: Mediterranean
Characteristics:
Dark skin color
No freckles
Very dark hair
Dark eyes

The skin rarely gets red

The skin tans quickly
Type 6: Mediterranean or aboriginal
Characteristics:
Very dark skin
No freckles
